Reviewed by Kristine (kristinedrama14@msn.com) Vote: 9/10/10 I finally decided to give the Final Destination movies a chance, Ididn't want to see them when they were released because of the actors,just a bunch of Dawson Creek teen drama TV actors, and I figured themovie would probably suck or be a Scream rip off. But today I decidedthat maybe I should give these movies a chance, I heard from a couplepeople that they were pretty good. I apologize to the writers anddirector of Final Destination, because this was one of the betterhorror movies I have seen in a while. Basically, Alex and his fellow students, including four teachers, aregoing on a field trip to Paris, but Alex has a horrifying nightmare ofthe plane crashing horribly and exploding killing everyone.

Rightbefore they take off, he screams and tells people to get off, but only6 follow him, one of which is in a fight with him, one of whichbelieves him, one of which who was late for the flight, one of whichwas a teacher comforting him, one of which was his best friend, and oneof which is the girlfriend of the guy who is in a fight with Alex. Theplane explodes, killing everyone, thinking they're safe, Alex realizesthat they were meant for death and it has a pattern, but it's a matterof playing Death! Final Destination is original and a terrifying story that brings up theinteresting subject of fate and destiny and if you make it or thingsshould happen naturally.

Not to mention the pretty cool death scenesthat occur in this film is any horror fan's dream of watching. This isone of the better horror films of this generation and I'm lookingforward to the next sequel.

Thewriting is always lame, the plots are even lamer, they're usuallyvehicles for the latest trends in fashion and music and showcases ofthe heartthrob and/or bombshell-of-the-month. They're really justvehicles for post-pubescent hormonal stimulation.

But 'Final Destination' is different. First, it has real imaginationgoing for it. The plot is unlike your typical 'madman in the cornchases teenage bombshell through puddles,' it actually took somethought to put this together.

It's not just shock-factor movie-making,they actually sat down and outlines how all the deaths would work in away that keeps the plot alive. A tale of kids trying to cheat death'sdesign is much harder to write than a dude with a chainsaw.

Then there's the death scenes themselves. I love a cleverdeath scene in movies like this. It's why you pay the $8! And theseare some doozies. You can tell the filmmakers sat around for hourssimply trying to find the coolest way to kill people. And if you have asick mind (like yours truly), you'll find these death scenes simplyhysterical! A really good movie.

I'm giving it a highscore because it's outstanding within it's genre. When FinalDestination came up on my Netflix list, I didn't know what to expect.
